About Us

Who are we?

Nigerian Canadian Community and Sports Development is a non-profit community-based organization established in 2016 that is focused on community development especially by sports engagement, integration, mentorship, education, health, and hunger alleviation. We also promote economic development for Nigerian Canadians and other immigrants in Canada, through programs, service delivery and advocacy.

Our Mission

The Mission of our organization is to promote the economic, social, physical (through sports) and cultural development of Nigerians in Canada and to act as a medium of rendering financial, social, and moral support to the individual members.

Our Vision

To see the lives of Nigerians in Canada flourishing all-round and in turn impacting and developing the community where they are situated.

Aims and Objectives

The aims and objectives of the of the organization are:

To establish and operate a community center to be used for workshops, community awareness programs, and community recreation center.
Using sports development to help youth develop leadership and people skill in youths through sport training and team building etc.
To bring people together through community outreach.
To organize summer sport camp for the youth.
To provide literacy programs and classes to the member of the community. Such as, computer programs and gifting funds to qualified recipients and
To undertake activities ancillary and incidental to the attainment of the above charitable purposes.

MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

It is with great honor; we the Board of Directors of Nigerian Canadian Community and Sports Development write this letter to you. Being on the board of this institution for the past years have been so memorable touching lives and impacting our community even though it has not been an entirely smooth ride.

It cannot be over-emphasized, the gratitude my board colleagues and I feel for the extraordinary participation we received from every participant of our programs this year. Every one of you are simply the best- Especially the Executive Director- for spare heading this organisation. We sincerely appreciate and are fortunate to have your undivided dedication and exceptional leadership.

We have seen a lot of growth and expanse this past year from the quality of our programs, the number of clients we are able to reach, our fixed assets (like furniture and computers), branding and promotional items and even more exciting things on the horizons. This would not have been possible without the collaborative effort of everyone. Thank you all so much.

Finally, we the board would like to express our immense appreciation to all the Directors for their dedication and hard work in representing Nigerian Canadians on the Board. I am looking forward to even greater work as we round off 2019 and look up to greater outcomes in 2020.
